Birdsong is a free app designed to help you learn and memorize bird calls. The app is intended for use as-is and operates primarily offline.

We do NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal information.

Birdsong is designed with privacy in mind. All user data is stored locally on your device:

• Bird Database: Pre-loaded bird information stored locally
• User Preferences: Language settings and app configurations stored on your device
• Playlists: Custom playlists you create are stored locally on your device
• Audio Playback State: Current playback position and settings stored locally

No Crash Reporting: We do not use any third-party crash reporting services. No diagnostic data is sent to external servers.

The app requests the following permissions:

• Internet Access: Used only to download bird call audio files from our CDN when you choose to play them. The app functions offline for search and browsing.
• Storage Access: To cache audio files locally for faster playback
• Notification Permission: To show playback controls in the notification area
• Background Audio: To continue playing bird calls when the app is in the background

When you play a bird call, the app may download audio files from our content delivery network. These downloads are initiated by your action and only for the specific recordings you choose to listen to.

Audio Source: Bird call recordings are sourced from Xeno-canto, a community database of bird sounds from around the world. Use of these recordings is subject to Xeno-canto's Terms of Use.

No personally identifiable information is transmitted during these downloads. Standard server logs may record IP addresses and timestamps as part of normal CDN operations.

Birdsong uses the following third-party services:

• CDN Service: For delivering audio content
• Xeno-canto: Source of bird call recordings. Please review their Terms of Use for more information.
• System Text-to-Speech: Uses your device's built-in TTS engine for practice mode announcements

We do not use analytics services, crash reporting services, or advertising networks.

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. The security of your data depends on your device's security settings.

We recommend using device-level security features such as PIN, password, or biometric authentication to protect your device.

Birdsong is suitable for all ages. Since we do not collect any personal information, the app is safe for children to use. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

All app data is stored on your device. You can delete all data by:

• Uninstalling the app from your device
• Clearing the app's data through your device settings

Once deleted from your device, the data cannot be recovered.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.

Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Since we do not collect or store your personal information:

• There is no data to access, modify, or delete from our servers
• All your data remains under your control on your device
• You can export or delete your playlists at any time through the app
